On 9 January 2021 a conference dedicated to the figure and work of Luigi Pio Tessitori was held in Kolkata. Promoted by the Asiatic Society and by Rajasthani Pracharini Sabha, the meeting was attended via videoconference by Swapan Kumar Pramanick, president of the Asiatic Society, Shri Ratan Shah, president of Rajasthani Pracharini Sabha, Bulaki Das Kalla, minister of Culture of Rajasthan, Gianluca Rubagotti, consul general of Italy in India and Fausto Freschi, president of the Società Indologica «Luigi Pio Tessitori». During the conference, the LPT DigiLib project, aimed at enhancing the collection of documents and materials on the Web testifying the research work carried out by illustrious Friulian indologist, was presented. The consul general of Italy Gianluca Rubagotti said he was convinced that the conference in Kolkata represents only the beginning of a long and collaboration between Indian and Italian cultural institutions.
